In an industry driven by noise, speed, and constant self-promotion, Saad Baba, whose full name is Mohammed Saad, stands apart for his simplicity, inner calm, and deep respect for his craft.
Born and raised in Delhi-6, Saad Baba’s inclination towards acting began early long before recognition or validation mattered.
“Acting ka shauk mujhe bachpan se tha. Main school bhi miss kar deta tha, aur kabhi-kabhi Friday ki namaz bhi acting ke liye chhoot jaati thi.”
Coming from a strict household, even watching films required adjustment.
“Mere father kaafi strict thay, isliye main film do parts mein dekhta tha—interval se pehle aur interval ke baad.”
Academics never truly interested him, but his voice did.
“Main padhai mein zyada studious nahi tha, lekin upar wale ne mujhe ek achhi awaaz di.”
That voice became his biggest strength and led him into the voice-over industry, which he balanced alongside regular work.
“Urdu ghar ki language hai, isliye meri Urdu par pakad kaafi strong rahi.”
The name ‘Saad Baba’ was never planned—it came purely from affection.
“Mera naam Mohammed Saad hai. Main religious nahi hoon, main liberal hoon.”
“Dilli ke doston ne pyaar se mujhe ‘Baba’ kehna shuru kiya, aur wahi se naam Saad Baba pad gaya.”
He is clear and unapologetic about one thing:
“Main kisi religion ko represent nahi karta.”
Despite working in Mumbai, Saad Baba continues to live a deeply grounded life.
“Mujhe show-off pasand nahi. Aaj bhi mere paas Mumbai mein car nahi hai. Main local train aur auto se travel karta hoon.”
Acting as a Craft
For Saad Baba, acting is about transformation and honesty. One of the most challenging roles of his career was portraying a CBI officer, a character completely opposite to his real personality.
“CBI officer ka role maine poori sincerity ke saath kiya. Main jo hoon, uska bilkul reverse character tha—aur wahi ek actor ke liye challenge hota hai.”
Once he enters a character, the immersion is deep.
“Jab main character mein aa jaata hoon, toh thoda serious ho jaata hoon. Kabhi-kabhi usse nikalna mushkil ho jaata hai.”
He understands the technical demands of different mediums.
“Television mein over-the-top acting expect ki jaati hai, jabki films aur OTT mein acting zyada subtle hoti hai. Lekin actor ke liye dono hi maidaan hain—har jagah apna best dena hota hai.”
Theatre & Performance Roots
Although not associated with institutional theatre, Saad Baba has strong performance roots. One of his most important theatre works was the play “Mausam Ko Badalne Do”.
The play was written by Raghunath Singh, a retired teacher from Himachal Pradesh, in which Saad Baba played the main lead role. The first show of Mausam Ko Badalne Do was staged at Veda Chaubara, Aram Nagar, Mumbai.
Film, Television & Voice Work
Over the years, Saad Baba has worked across television, OTT platforms, and digital cinema. His television appearances include shows like Patiala Babes, Laal Ishq, Mere Sai, Crime Patrol, and Savdhaan India.
In the OTT space, he has been part of notable projects such as Inside Edge, The Final Call, She, Your Honor, Poison 2, and Scam 1992, where his performances reflected restraint and realism.
Parallel to acting, his voice has travelled across languages and borders.
“Maine Mahindra ka ad kiya hai, Kisan App ke liye voice di hai.”
“South Indian films, Turkish serials, Irani films aur Urdu movies—maine kaafi dubbing ka kaam kiya hai.”
Life Philosophy
Competition does not disturb him.
“Competition mere liye kuch nahi hota. Jo naseeb mein likha hota hai, wahi milta hai.”
Even during the COVID phase, when work slowed down, he remained calm.
“Covid ke time jab kaam nahi tha, main bilkul normal tha or apni reel se logo ko hasaane ki koshish karta tha.”
He moved to Mumbai without fear or pressure.
“Main Mumbai tension-free hokar gaya.”
His advice to anyone struggling is honest and grounded:
“Jab zindagi mein safal nahi ho paa rahe ho, toh apni kami ko samajhkar usse durust karte hue kaam karte raho.”
He sums up his life philosophy in one deeply personal line:
“Main apni barbaadiyon ka jashn manata chala gaya.”
That sentence defines Saad Baba (Mohammed Saad) not just as an actor, but as a human being who chose awareness over anxiety, simplicity over show, and patience over pressure.
